Virtual Zoo

Some of my classmates and I went to our school to arrange our requirements for our practicum last friday. My classmate Faye planned to buy cloth for her ojt uniform at Divisoria. Since I haven't bought mine, I decided to come with her. Camille, my other classmate also came with us.

First, we went to Lucky Chinatown Mall...its our first time to be there and I am impressed with it. From its name itself this 5-hectare mall is located at the heart of China Town. The mall has the top of the line retail and food establishments. Aside from the shops and resto, I liked that the mall is not yet crowded.  Another thing is that they have clean with good interior designed restroom, plus music and cctv camera. hehe. Basta kung hindi ka pa nakakapunta sa Lucky Chinatown Mall, see it yourself :D Read more...

After, we finished buying cloths...we decided to visit Tutuban Center Mall Virtual Zoo. It is a collage of 12 3D paintings of "larger-than-life" animals made by Lakan Dayang Cultural Association group of artists.   LDCA are composed of Fine Arts students and professors from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

too much for my kadaldalan...let me share our photos. :)

First, I got bitten by this yawning lion at circus
entering the bat cave

I was trying to calm the horse...

Come here, I know you're hungry. Catch this piece! :)

An epitome of "Grace under pressure" inside an alligator's mouth.
My friend Faye got tired and she needs to be hydrated. Tindi ng uhaw mo te! haha :)
No, you can't go out.
Thanks Faye for helping me. Thank you also to that drink, you have enough energy my friend. :)
Time to eat and some wash Tutu 'd Elephant

Namamasko Po! Karoling ng Kabataang Pinoy

The Poster
As the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines declared year 2011 as the Year of the Youth, which started from December 16, 2010 and will end on the same date this year,  a Christmas concert was held at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum last December 10, 2011 by the Archdiocese of Manila's Commission on the Youth and Campus Ministry Office as well as Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom).

Namamasko Po! Karoling ng Kabataang Pinoy carried the theme, "Kabataang Pilipino: Handog sa Bayan at Simbahan." It featured young recognized achievers in the field of entertainment and arts, politics and philanthropy that gave inspirational message to their fellow youth and to the audience.

(c) Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle

Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle of the Archdiocese of Manila gave a short address to the assembly.

He reminded the young people and others to bring back the true meaning of Christmas -- "God's self-emptying gift of Himself which we must follow in our lives and what is the real and deeper role of "caroling" in the context of our Christmas Filipino Traditional Celebrations."

The Stage

Musician Friends of the Jesuits
The orchestra is rehearsing
Multi-awarded youth groups performed on stage and generously shared their talents for a meaningful event of the Church. Among them were Claret Hataw, Hail Mary the Queen Children's Choir, Kilyawan Boys Choir, Las Pinas Boys Choir and the University of the East Chorale.  There were other chorale from different colleges and universities such as Centro Escolar University Singers, Adamson Chorale, De La Salle University Chorale, Polytechic University of the Philippines Bagong Himig Serenata,  also included were the Centro Escolar University Moving Hands, the St. Paul University Animators and dancers and the Young Peacemakers on Campus. Songs were accompanied by the Musician Friends of the Jesuits.

Jovit Baldivino rehearsing
Yeng Constantino, Jovit Baldivino and Markki Stroem also sang their carols.

Carelle Mangaliag and Ding Dong Dantes gave their inspirational messages.

Andrei Felix and Gretchen Fullido were the hosts.

This joyful and youthful event was focused on the youth, the Catholic Church aims to increase awareness of their plight and promote the youth's active role in the church and society.

Performers and Staffs Praying

After the successful of  World Youth Day Madrid to Manila Overnight Vigil  last August 20 and 21, that gathered as much as 12,000 youths from all over the country, this major concert followed.

The Christmas Concert will be aired on Studio 23, December 18, 2011 (Sunday), 10 pm. :)

...let the show begin. :)

Hosts: Andrei Felix and Gretchen Fullido
The audience

After Msgr. Vincent Bauson Opening Remarks, the CEU Moving Hands performed "Tell The World of His Love" for Doxology

...CEU Moving Hands also performed "Sana Ngayong Pasko" with Jovit Baldivino

Due to technical and lights problems, we mimed with those lights ON and WITHOUT black lights. As they say, "The show must go on." and nevertheless I know each one of us gave our hearts during the performances and PROUD to represent Centro Escolar University.

The orchestra played "Sana Ngayong Pasko"

Andrei Felix and Jovit Baldivino
Jovit Baldivino also sang "Ang Pasko'y Pag-ibig"

...After that CEU Singers...

CEU Singers (Manila and Makati) rehearsing

Carelle Mangaliag taught everyone at SMART-Araneta Coliseum how to be AMAZING...through her inspirational message and dance.

Then Claret Hataw showcased their talent in dancing. No wonder why those boys won 2nd Place at the Skechers Streetdance Battle 7. In the middle of their performance, their music stopped and forced them to finish their dance routine. Another technical problem.  Anyway, continue to STEP. MOVE. DANCE. HATAW -- Claret Hataw! :)

Markki Stroem
He sang "You Raise Me Up" and "O Holy Night".

Chorale after Chorale...Carols after Carols...Performance after Performance

Dingdong Dantes
Dingdong said something about his advocacy and foundation and encouraged the young people to participate in the work of Nation building.

Yeng Constanino performed "Pasko sa Pinas"...
and "Hawak Kamay"

Yeng rocked these people with her performance!
A Prayer of the Youth also happened that lead the whole congregation to a youth prayer composed by the youth.

As the highlight of the concert Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle made one of us remember the true meaning of Christmas. He also serenaded the audience with his song. He sang "Christmas in Our Hearts" *galing ni Archbishop kumanta. :)

Before the concert ends chorales from CEU and Adamson sang Pasko Medley.

May everyone live the true spirit of  Christmas.
Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year!

love,
my pass

Stage (upper left),  Medic and Information (upper right), Baggage (lower left), Male and Female Dressing (lower right)
In case of emergency, there were medical staffs that can give first aids on the runners at the Medic booth and an ambulance on stand by behind it.
If runners or people on the place have questions they can proceed on the Information booth, they can also buy foods, drinks, SJA 85th Anniversary and Fun Run Collectibles. Another booth sells clothes and other stuffs.
Runners who have backpacks or a lot of things with them they can left their things on the Baggage booth. I just brought a belt bag where I placed my cellphone, money, camera, towel and a "drink and fold" water container. Di hassle. I must recommend just have with you belt bags. :)
Male and Female Dressing room is a place where runners can change their clothes before and after the run.
Runners or others can also have a souvenir photo for 40 pesos at the Photo Booth.
There is also a Technical Booth located behind the stage.

Pocari Sweat Booth (left) and Pocari Sweat take homes (right)

Pocari Sweat booth is located at the back of the stage and runners can ask for a bottle as long as they want. There were also two Pocari Sweat hydration stations and two water stations located on KM point race route.

Gunstart for 10K runners.
every after 5 mins were the gunstart for 5K, 3K, 1.5K, 700m

I finished 5K in 57 mins and 42 secs
Not bad. Im not also aiming to win the race, I just want to celebrate the anniv and to have fun at the same time. Since Im not that in to running though I jogged last summer, one fourth of the supposedly fun RUN, I WALKED or I can properly say "cooled down" for many times. hahaha. :)

MY REAL EMOTIONS:
It was nice to see old and new faces at the fun run. It was a good venue to see Jamers. It made me missed my Alma Mater.

My siblings and I are all alumni from St. James Academy. I can say that my parents greatest investment was our education. My Alma Mater drove me to give selflessly myself to the local community and the Church.  I learned, grew and became a good citizen and God-fearing. All of this I owe to the community of St. James Academy.

HALINA SA LPU FT. PAROKYA NI EDGAR

POSTER

At yung ibang estudyante binenta yung ticket nila sa murang halaga, baka yung iba tinamad na pumunta at noong araw na mismo ng concert umuulan, its their lost, SAYA KAYA NOONG CONCERT kaIt's been a year since I was able to watch Parokya Ni Edgar on stage. I always check on their Facebook Fan page http://www.facebook.com/parokyaniedgarofficial or even their twitter accounts to see if they have a gig that fit my sched and accessible for me. :) Finally I was able to find out that they will be having a concert at Lyceum of the Philippines University. and right away I asked some of my High school barkada who are studying there and they did updated me if outsiders are allowed to watch the concert and how much is the entrance fee. :)

my story continues...

"Halina sa LPU", Lyceum of the Philippines University - Manila, September 12, 2011, 7-9pm

Typecast is the front act of the concert and they played three songs.

"YES YES SHOW" FOR THEIR LAST SONG

The concert ended at  around 9pm and we waited for the band to get out of the waiting area to have an autograph or picture with them. However we failed but not with their drummer. :)
