PANDAIGDIGANG ARAW NG MGA KABATAAN

 The World Youth Day

was also celebrated here in the Philippines at Ateneo de Manila University last August 20-21 2011. Despite the bad weather, almost 12,000 delegates from different colleges and universities actively joined the prayer, worship and inspirational songs, liturgical celebrations  and sharing of faith stories. The event was highlighted by Pope Benedict XVI's message to the youth that was telecast live from Madrid. The theme is "Planted and Built in Jesus Christ, Firm in the Faith."

"It is a great worldwide encounter with the Pope which is celebrated every three years in a different country."

I am so blessed to experience this universality of the Church. I am one of the performers in the said event together with Centro Escolar University's SELAMS-Moving Hands. We performed "Tell the World of His Love".

now telling the story...

our call time is 7:00am at CEU South gate...I came on time because if I'll be late I don't know how to get in to Ateneo...so we are expecting for an "Ateneo BUS" to fetch us...we waited for almost three hours and NO BUS CAME instead a school service. okay that's not the issue. the important thing is we were able to be there and perform. :)

the stage

our food is provided by the organizers from lunch, merienda to dinner. we also bought food at the Ateneo Canteen. they sell cheap food but delicious. :)

CEU-SELAMS Moving Hands on stage
we're supposed to do blocking and rehearse with music however weren't able to do so because again the choral is still rehearsing...so we just took the opportunity to have a remembrance photo. :)

The gate opened 2:00pm and the program started at 6:00pm.

they are coming...

and the program started...

singing, dancing and praising Jesus Christ

St. Paul University is one of the hosts and here are their delegates...

AND CEU-SELAMS'S MOVING HANDS PERFORM "TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE."

as we perform i became emotional and i dont know why...
"pinipigil ko lang ang iyak ko"

when we did the stars figure it WOWED the audience

TELL THE WORLD OF GOD's LOVE

after our performance the audience shouted "MORE, MORE!" if those people only know how they touched each one of us because of that...through their WOWS and CLAPS...their appreciation of our simple performance is a REWARD. The moment we stepped out of the stage there were some people that came to us to Congratulate and there were even some who asked our contact number so we can perform to them.

MY REAL EMOTIONS:
Amen."

I'd be sharing our other photos on my next post. :)
