Six long weekends await Pinoys in 2012

(via GMA News)

REAR: Namamasko Po!

MY REAL EMOTIONS:

After our successful show at the World Youth Day, the Jesuits Communication Foundation invited us again to be part of a Christmas Concert. When are professor told us about this, I felt mixed emotions both happy and not sure if I can join. But still I wrote my name on the list to be part of the show. 2 weeks before the show, we scheduled dates for practices but weren't able to meet the numbers of members joining the group and we wasted a week. 5 days before the concert, I am losing hope to perform at the Big Dome because still weren't able to meet the numbers. And then angels came, Social Work freshmen students joined us! YEHEY! We are enlightened even though weren't able to meet the 40pax, we have 34 heads, 68 hands and 1 heart

When I knew that we will be performing at SMART Araneta Coliseum (yun sure na sure na!) I am so excited because various artists and shows happened there. And a joyful and youthful concert will occur, the Namamasko Po! Karoling ng Kabataang Pinoy.

Fast forward to December 10, 2011 the day that didn't start good. We experienced dreadful moments such as our black lights was accidentally broken, the aircon at the bus got over-heat, a traffic enforcer caught our bus driver's license (pero naayos din), muntik ng mabanga ang bus namin, hindi alam ng bus driver kung saan dadaan at akala namin mahuhuli na naman ang bus driver ng isa pang traffic enforser. In the end, we were able to be at the Coliseum safe and alive! Aleluyah! :)

Due to technical and lights problems, we mimed with those lights ON and WITHOUT black lights. I'm not sure if the audience were able to see or recognize the figures we made. As they say, "The show must go on." and nevertheless I know each one of us gave our hearts during the performances and PROUD to represent Centro Escolar University. They almost forgot to recognize our group after our performance that made one of the professors in our university angry. Likewise the whole group was saddened about that, almost all of us cried! We are really disheartened. But we got better when a Bro. from the JesCom productions apologized for what had happened and he expressed how much he appreciated our craft.

I'm also disappointed because our production no. was not been aired last Dec. 18 at Studio 23. They cut our part. Siguro dahil kasiraan sa show nila ang kapalpakan ng production nila. Those people don't know how much effort, time and heart we dedicated to finish those figures for 2 songs. Then what will we get? NOTHING.

Were not the only one who experienced those technical problems. In the middle of Claret Hataw's performance, their music stopped that forced them to finish their dance routine. Sayang lang at nagkaroon ng technical problem, bigla na lang huminto ang tugtog nila. Siguro kung natapos nila ang dance routine nila mas madami pa silang napabilib. Anyway, continue to STEP. MOVE. DANCE. HATAW -- Claret Hataw! :)

I understand that we cannot avoid technical and lights problems in every production. And whatever happens "The show must go on." I learned that we should always be  prepared and whatever happens be proud of what you're doing. I’m really proud of the CEU-Moving Hands even though were not members of this group and even if were just asked to be part of the production we gave our hearts to the show. And I hope everyone saw that.

Namamasko Po! Karoling ng Kabataang Pinoy

The Poster
As the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines declared year 2011 as the Year of the Youth, which started from December 16, 2010 and will end on the same date this year,  a Christmas concert was held at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum last December 10, 2011 by the Archdiocese of Manila's Commission on the Youth and Campus Ministry Office as well as Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom).

Namamasko Po! Karoling ng Kabataang Pinoy carried the theme, "Kabataang Pilipino: Handog sa Bayan at Simbahan." It featured young recognized achievers in the field of entertainment and arts, politics and philanthropy that gave inspirational message to their fellow youth and to the audience.

(c) Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle

Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle of the Archdiocese of Manila gave a short address to the assembly.

He reminded the young people and others to bring back the true meaning of Christmas -- "God's self-emptying gift of Himself which we must follow in our lives and what is the real and deeper role of "caroling" in the context of our Christmas Filipino Traditional Celebrations."

The Stage

Multi-awarded youth groups performed on stage and generously shared their talents for a meaningful event of the Church. Among them were Claret Hataw, Hail Mary the Queen Children's Choir, Kilyawan Boys Choir, Las Pinas Boys Choir and the University of the East Chorale.  There were other chorale from different colleges and universities such as Centro Escolar University Singers, Adamson Chorale, De La Salle University Chorale, Polytechic University of the Philippines Bagong Himig Serenata,  also included were the Centro Escolar University Moving Hands, the St. Paul University Animators and dancers and the Young Peacemakers on Campus. Songs were accompanied by the Musician Friends of the Jesuits.

Jovit Baldivino rehearsing
Yeng Constantino, Jovit Baldivino and Markki Stroem also sang their carols.

Carelle Mangaliag and Ding Dong Dantes gave their inspirational messages.

Andrei Felix and Gretchen Fullido were the hosts.

This joyful and youthful event was focused on the youth, the Catholic Church aims to increase awareness of their plight and promote the youth's active role in the church and society.

Performers and Staffs Praying

After the successful of  World Youth Day Madrid to Manila Overnight Vigil  last August 20 and 21, that gathered as much as 12,000 youths from all over the country, this major concert followed.

The Christmas Concert will be aired on Studio 23, December 18, 2011 (Sunday), 10 pm. :)

...let the show begin. :)

Hosts: Andrei Felix and Gretchen Fullido
The audience

After Msgr. Vincent Bauson Opening Remarks, the CEU Moving Hands performed "Tell The World of His Love" for Doxology

...CEU Moving Hands also performed "Sana Ngayong Pasko" with Jovit Baldivino

Due to technical and lights problems, we mimed with those lights ON and WITHOUT black lights. As they say, "The show must go on." and nevertheless I know each one of us gave our hearts during the performances and PROUD to represent Centro Escolar University.

The orchestra played "Sana Ngayong Pasko"

Andrei Felix and Jovit Baldivino
Jovit Baldivino also sang "Ang Pasko'y Pag-ibig"

...After that CEU Singers...

CEU Singers (Manila and Makati) rehearsing

Carelle Mangaliag taught everyone at SMART-Araneta Coliseum how to be AMAZING...through her inspirational message and dance. :) Lahat ng tao sa Coliseum ay naki sayaw sa kanya at naging amazing.

Then Claret Hataw showcased their talent in dancing. No wonder why those boys won 2nd Place at the Skechers Streetdance Battle 7. Napatili ang mga kabataang babae at napahanga nila ang bawat tao sa Coliseum. In the middle of their performance, their music stopped and forced them to finish their dance routine. Another technical problem.  Anyway, continue to STEP. MOVE. DANCE. HATAW -- Claret Hataw! :)

Markki Stroem
He sang "You Raise Me Up" and "O Holy Night".

Chorale after Chorale...Carols after Carols...Performance after Performance

Dingdong Dantes
Dingdong said something about his advocacy and foundation and encouraged the young people to participate in the work of Nation building.

Yeng Constanino performed "Pasko sa Pinas"...
and "Hawak Kamay"

Yeng rocked these people with her performance!
A Prayer of the Youth also happened that lead the whole congregation to a youth prayer composed by the youth.

As the highlight of the concert Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle made one of us remember the true meaning of Christmas. He also serenaded the audience with his song. He sang "Christmas in Our Hearts" *galing ni Archbishop kumanta. :)

Before the concert ends chorales from CEU and Adamson sang Pasko Medley.

May everyone live the true spirit of  Christmas.
Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year!

love,
my pass

Happiness is being Together

uploaded by Coca-Cola

My Real Emotions:

We Filipinos are family-oriented. We will do everything for our family...
to satisfy their wants and needs,
to sacrifice our own happiness for their happiness.

This video really made me cry and smile
to know how hard Overseas Filipino Workers' life abroad and
to see how happy they are being with their family again…

Christmas is best celebrated here in the Philippines.
Most especially when you are with your family…

This is one of those posts or upcoming posts that I become a fan. For those who read my previous posts and know me personally, this isn't new to you that I'm a big fan of Parokya ni Edgar.

PAROKYA NI EDGAR was awarded BAND OF THE YEAR by the Stagg Music Awards 2011.
and the band's vocalist CHITO MIRANDA JR. was awarded MOST LIKED VOCALIST-MAINSTREAM.

And I Congratulated Parokya ni Edgar and Chito Miranda thru Twitter.

Here's my tweet congratulating the band and mentioned the band members.

My tweet for the Chito Miranda, PNE Vocalist

To my surprise Chito Miranda retweeted it. It really made me happy. :)

I really took the effort to print screen his profile and even edit it. :)

And Parokya ni Edgar also retweeted it. :)

A NIGHT WITH SMART GILAS

the team prayed after the game.
September 09, 2011, a date I will never forget. Finally I was able to watch live Smart Gilas Pilipinas team play. That was two months ago at San Juan Arena, I was able to cheer for our National Team's tune-up game versus the team of Jordan. I am lucky to see them play together for the last time because most of the players joined the PBA Draft and now playing really well on PBA. *no news yet if the program will continue and if the former players will still play and represent the country.

Pilipinas succeded to win over Jordan. Final Score: 80-71.

Sulit ang panunuod ng mga fans na nagpunta dahil nanalo ang Gilas at binigay ng parehong team ang best nila, di sila nagrelax lang.

We also watched the game for FREE. Yes! No entrance fee paid.

...now ill be just sharing photos of the players with me.

Please bare with my low quality photos. I wasn't able to fully charge my camera so my battery emptied before the game started. too bad. After the game fans waited for the players to have a photo-opp and here's mine. :)

with Don Don Hontiveros

Don Don is really nice and casual. I remember he even told my friend "nanginginig ka" while she takes our photo. He is also a Gilas player however he didn't played for the FIBA ASIA. Sayang. He just supported the team.  I also was able to have an autograph of him. Watch him play for Petron Blaze no. 7. Chris Lutz is also playing really well on same team no.3.

Don Don Hontiveros' autograph.
This is my one and only autograph from the players. It is not because they wouldn't sign one but because I don't have a pen and a paper. My bad :( That autograph above, I just tore a paper on my friend's filler and borrowed pentel pen from a fan. Since my friend came from school that day, she has her school supplies and she is lucky to have autographs from all the players. envy me!

...sharing of photos (in order)
with Marcus Douthit
He is a naturalized Filipino. He didn't join the PBA Draft together with Chris Tiu.

Gilas to Barako Bull watch Dylan Ababuo no. 33 plays

Jimmy Alapag
now on Talk n Text Tropang Texters, no. 3
with Kelly Williams no. 21
Ranidel de Ocampo no. 33
Japeth Aguilar no. 35

with Mac Baracael

no. 10 of Alaska Aces

Andy Barroca

no.14 playing for B-meg Llamados

with JV Casio
Unfortunately, he didn't play during the tune-up game. He is the PBA Draft Rookie Pick. He is now on Powerade Tigers no. 42. Feel bad i wasn't able to have an autograph.

with Jason Ballesteros
no. 18 of Meralco Bolts

with his team mate Asi Taulava no. 5
Asi is really nice to the fans. After the game he came to the fans to say thank you for supporting the team, some fans asked for a photo-opp, autograph, shake hands at hindi niya ito binigo. He even threw baller to the audience and the guy beside me caught it.

with Marcio Lassiter
also a Tiger of Powerade no.13.

with Charles Tiu
He is one of the coaches of Smart Gilas Pilipinas. Now he is also an assistant coach for Powerade. Charles is making his own name in Basketball. A younger brother of Chris Tiu.

with Chris Tiu
He is one of those players I really look up to. Why? Read this Ten Things You Should Know about Chris Tiu

I wasnt able to have pictures with the other players. Check http://www.pba.ph/home here you will know more about PBA teams and the players.
